Ajuga reptans ‘Mahogany’
Type: Perennial, spreading evergreen ground cover. Frost Hardy, Worth growing for the beautiful mahogany foliage alone. Rosettes only 2-3” high and infinite spread
Bloom: Late spring, June July
Flower: Whorls of deep blue spikes ½ to ¾” long borne on erect shoots
Height: 4-12’ tall
12” -18” spacing
Light: Sun to Part Shade. Shelter from strong sun, although develops color best when in sun. Keep moist
Soil: Ordinary Moist
Moisture: Consistently Moist
Zone: 3-10
Use: Rock gardens, border fronts, containers. Excellent ground cover for shady areas
Tolerances: Poor soil but prefers to remain constantly moist. Can be trimmed as desired
Problems: Trouble free except for snails and slugs
