Columbine Light Pink Seeds


Type: Hardy, herbaceous perennial
Bloom: Early to mid-spring
Flower: 5 spurred petals sitting above 5 petal-like sepals
Height: 1-3′ tall X 1’ Wide
Light: Sun or part shade
Soil: Moist, well drained leafy soil. Do well in poor to average
Moisture: thick tap-roots allow for medium to light watering once they are established
Zone: 3-9
Use: Bed or border, woodland, cottage and heirloom gardens, cut flower
Tolerances: Full sun is tolerated with slightly more watering
Notes: Reseeds prolifically. Deadhead once flowers fade to avoid
Grow With: Ferns, Ajuga, Hosta, Wild flowers, Campanula

Aquilegia vulgaris Seed Propagation
Indoors: Cold stratification required. Surface sow in paks or flats 6-8 weeks before last frost. Do not cover. Needs light to germinate in 21-28 days. Maintain 65-60F soil temp
Outdoors: Direct surface sow into prepared seed bed in Fall or early Spring in groups of 3-4 seeds spaced 6-18″ apart. Germination 21-25 days. Thin to strongest plant.
