Type: Biennial or short lived perennial, Stately wild flower, Sturdy Plants
Bloom: Early to midsummer and throughout June to August
Flower: Un-branched spikes of bright purple, pink and white bell shaped flowers, spotted within
Height: 5-6’ tall or more
Light: Full sun to light shade
Soil: Moist, light soil, top dressed with organic matter

Digitalis purpurea Seed Propagation
Indoors: Surface sow, press in, don not cover. Keep moist with tepid water. Maintain 70F soil temperature for germination 7-14 days. Grow on at 65F am & 60F pm. Transplant about 25 days after germination into 21/4″ pots. Grow transplants on at 50F
Outdoors: Direct surface sow July 15 into shady area. Transplant or thin to 8-12″ apart in mid Sept. Protect seedlings against severe winter during late fall with light straw mulch
