Alcea rosea Seed Propagation
Indoors: Surface sow 6-8 weeks before last frost to moist medium in 2″ pots. Press in, Lightly cover. Use humidity dome & maintain 60-70F. Keep moist until germination 14-28 days. Trans to 3″ pots& grow on in cooler temperatures for 2 weeks before planting out 18″ apart after risk of frost. Alternatively sow late summer in cool greenhouse & over-winter in well lit cool conditions. Plant out the following Spring. Tip: Soak Seeds over night in tepid water before dowing
Outdoors: Direct surface sow 3-4 seeds 2-3′ apart to prepared bed. Firm & keep moist until germination. Tin to strongest. Grow on until 4-6″ tall & transplant to the garden
