Type: Annual ornamental grass
Bloom: Late Summer to Autumn
Flower: to 1′ tall silky soft green plumes that turn light tan
Height: 1-2.5′ tall x 12″ wide
Light: Full Sun to light shade
Soil: Dry, sandy. Thrives in poor soils but likes moist soil that is well drained soil
P.H: 6.0-7.0
Moisture: Average to dry
Zone: 7-10
Use: Fresh or dried arrangements, containers, beds, back border, landscapes, accent. golden fall interest
Tolerances: Drought, heat and light tolerant, Deer resistant
Problems: Reseeds and can become invavsive if not deadheaded early and replant in Spring
Notes: Easy to grow, Spring through fall color. Attracts birds
Plant with ground covers, other grasses
Mexican Feather Grass was recently added to Plant Right’s list of invasive plants in California so keep in pots and cut down before going to seed towards late Summer

Indoors: Nic or soak 24hrs Indoors: Sow 5-6 seeds per pot or cells early spring or in a cold frame in spring, press in with very thin cover. Keep moist but not wet, maintain 68-72F soil temperature for germination 2-3 weeks then grow on at cooler temperatures. Plant out 12″ apart
Outdoors: Sow late Autumn or early spring
