Purple Siberian Iris Seeds
Type: Perennial, Hardy, Herbaceous, Sodding. Low maintenance
Bloom: Late Spring (May) to Mid Summer
Flower: Purple with yellow throats 40” above clump of grassy foliage
Height: 3-4’ tall x 2.5-3’ wide
Light: Full Sun. part or dappled shade where summer is hot. At least 6 hrs sun per day ideal
Soil: Neutral to acid soil, 6.0-7.0PH
Water: Medium to wet. Water liberally from onset of growth in Spring until several weeks after bloom. They need constant moisture to do their best
Zone: 3-8
Use: Mass plant, borders, containers, rain garden, near ponds, streams, slopes and hillsides
Tolerances: Summer drought, deer and rabbit resistant, wet and erosion, heavy soil. Dry soil
Notes: Set rhizomes 1-2 inches deep, 1-2 ft apart
In cold winter regions, plant in early spring or late summer. In milder regions plant in autumn
Water liberally from onset of growth until several weeks after bloom
Divide infrequently when clumps show hollow center during time best for your region
Trim back foliage late fall to discourage plant pests from overwintering
