Type: Annual/Biennial, bold, architectural, silver-grey green velvety leaves to 1.5’ long, Fast growth
Bloom: Early Summer to Late Summer

Use: Wild flower garden, woodland, mass planting, large perennial garden, back border, meadow, specimen, accent, cut flower, containers. Found at dry road sides, gravel pits, disturbed forest areas
Tolerances: Light, dappled shade. Poor to average soil
Notes: Deer resistant, rabbit resistant, drought tolerant. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Self sows. Will naturalize. 1st year foliage, second year flowers

Verbascum thapsus Seed Propagation
Indoors: Surface sow to cell packs or flats of seed compost in April to May. To cold frame. Press in. Cover very lightly with seed compost. Needs light to germinate. Ideal germination temperature 60F for germination 12-30 days. Reduce moisture & grow on in cooler temperatures. Prick to 6″ apart to nursery rows or pots & grow on. Transplant to permanent position in September 1.5′ apart
Outdoors: Although will self seed naturally, transplant is recommended
